Karolyn Hopfensperger, PhD

Prostate Physicist Lead

Dr. Hopfensperger is a clinical medical physicist at the University of Michigan Department of Radiation Oncology. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa and completed her medical physics residency at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah. She joined the medical physics faculty at Michigan Medicine in 2023. Her interests include brachytherapy for the treatment of prostate and gynecological cancers, clinical trials, and out-of-field dose characterization.
