Melissa Mietzel, MS

Managing Director

Melissa Mietzel serves as the Managing Director for the Michigan Radiation Oncology Quality Consortium (MROQC), where she leads the Coordinating Center team in advancing collaborative quality improvement across 26 radiation oncology facilities in Michigan.


Since joining MROQC in 2016, Melissa has played a pivotal role in the program’s growth and success—overseeing strategic planning, operations, and member engagement. She works closely with clinical, physics, and data teams to implement evidence-based practices, design and execute statewide improvement initiatives, and ensure alignment with payer expectations.


With more than 20 years of experience in oncology clinical research and project management, Melissa brings deep expertise in healthcare quality, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven improvement. She is committed to advancing equitable, patient-centered care and fostering strong partnerships across the oncology community.


Melissa is a 2025 PASQUAL Scholar through the Michigan Medicine Department of Quality and currently serves as co-lead of the Clinical Trials Workgroup for the Michigan Cancer Consortium. She holds a Master of Science in Medical Science from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University.
